When You Need an Amp

The same headphones sound full and dynamic with a $50 amp. The rule of thumb: if your headphones feel “quiet” or “flat” when plugged into your phone, you need an amp.
Portable vs Desktop

Don’t overspend — a $149 amp sounds 90% as good as a $500 amp for most headphones. The FiiO K3 is the best value in audio at any price.
