Best Wireless Earbuds for iPhone Users

Best Wireless Earbuds for iPhone Users

Published: June 25, 2025 | Category: Buying Guides

If you have an iPhone, the AirPods Pro 2 ($249) are the best earbuds you can buy. Period. No other earbud integrates as seamlessly with iOS, offers as good ANC, or delivers as convenient features. But they’re not the best-sounding earbud for iPhone — that title goes to the Sony WF-1000XM5 ($279) with LDAC support (yes, iPhones support LDAC via workaround). Here’s the complete ranking.

#1: Apple AirPods Pro 2 ($249)

Seamless iOS integration: automatic device switching, Find My support, Siri voice control. ANC: -38dB (best in class for earbuds). Adaptive Audio: dynamically adjusts ANC based on environment. Battery: 6 hours + 24 hours case. USB-C charging. IP55 rating. The H2 chip enables computational audio that tailors sound to your ear shape. Sound quality is excellent for an earbud — detailed mids, controlled bass, clear treble. The only limitation: AAC codec only (no LDAC on iPhone).

#2: Sony WF-1000XM5 ($279)

Best sound quality for iPhone earbuds. LDAC support delivers 3x more data than AAC. 8.4mm carbon fiber drivers produce bass down to 20Hz. ANC: -42dB (better than AirPods Pro 2). Battery: 8 hours + 16 hours case. Weight: 5.9g per bud (lightest ANC earbuds under $300). The Sony Headphones Connect app offers 5-band EQ. Sound is more detailed and spacious than AirPods Pro 2. The trade-off: no iOS integration features (no automatic switching, no Find My, no Siri hands-free).

#3: Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro ($249)

Best value for iPhone users who want features beyond AirPods. ANC: -40dB. Sound: 2-way driver (woofer + tweeter) with 10mm woofer and 6.2mm tweeter. Battery: 7 hours + 23 hours case. IPX7 water resistance. The Buds3 Pro supports Bluetooth 5.3 with SSC (Samsung Seamless Codec) — sounds better than AAC but not as good as LDAC. SmartThings integration works with iPhone (limited). At $249, same price as AirPods Pro 2, the Buds3 Pro offer more features for non-iPhone users.

My Take

Here’s my take: if you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem (Mac, iPad, Apple Watch), the AirPods Pro 2 are the obvious choice. The seamless integration is worth the premium. If you prioritize sound quality over convenience, the Sony WF-1000XM5 ($279) sounds better. For everyone else, save $170 and buy the Soundcore Space A40 ($79) — you’ll get 80% of the performance for 30% of the price.
